TPHS JV Team Wins 2019 Grossmont Tournament!

Torrey Pines bested 5 other San Diego teams in the 14th Annual Grossmont Tournament JV Premier Division. Pitted against a formidable St. Augustine team in the finals (the team they lost 0-1 to during the qualifying round), the Falcons played proficiently throughout the match, getting on the board first with a goal by Sophomore Finn McDevitt. The Saints earned the equalizer on a corner kick forcing the game to go into overtime. Within minutes, Torrey Pines came out on top with Sophomore David Erkam scoring the golden goal off of a well-placed assist by Junior Nicholas Fajardo.
Final Score: Torrey Pines 2 – St. Augustine 1
